MBMC

Student of Architecture, Interiors and Rehabilitation

I'm, Maria Beatriz Mira Cabaço (MBMC), born in Lisbon, on June 4, 2001. I started my artistic studies at Pinhal Novo Secondary School in the Visual Arts Course. I am currently a 2nd year student, in the Master of Architecture with specialization in Interiors and Rehabilitation of the Building, in the Faculty of Architecture UL.

This course has captivated me for its rehabilitation aspect, since we are in a world where human society is growing, day after day. Increasingly, architects are being required to build housing faster and cheaper, without, at times, it being reflected and considered. We are living surrounded by architectural buildings, from the oldest to the most modern, increasingly worn out and without housing conditions. Moreover, the space available for "virgin" construction is less and less.
As future architects we cannot forget that the "old" also has value, from the old you can make the new. It is necessary to communicate this new concept to the world - the new can succeed the old, having in mind that the new does not exist without the old.

Since I was a child Architecture fascinates me. I would like to build "little houses" and to understand the human mind, Architecture unites all my tastes, since it shelters man and his precious mind.
When people ask me why I decided to study architecture I never know the answer, and maybe I never know, but it's something that satisfies me completely. It challenges me for its union of complex knowledges; it's a combination of feelings in conjugation with art, music and science.
