ENTROPIC TOPOGRAPHIES

The work seeks to explore the potential of drawing as a contemporary instrument of research and architectural speculation, a dialectical process of discovery of new situations arising from chance and uncertainty.

On the one hand, the practice of watercolor favors the informality of the small format, simultaneously paying a tribute to the graphic work of architects like Massimo Scolari, and the option for an axonometric type of representation is made in order to underline the projectual nature of the drawings.

On the other hand, the watercolor technique has a quality of unpredictability that provides the creation of unexpected images, allowing a condition of planned arbitrariness where the formalization of an architectural idea happens by reaction to something formless.

The starting point for each drawing is the creation of an abstract image, a simple mark in the paper, produced deliberately but casually, something completely free and indeterminate that serves as a base for the development of an interpretation.

In the following stages there's an action of organization and revelation of the latent architectural possibilities within these initial marks.

The result is the production of an architectural iconography inseparable from the graphic process that led to it, thereby obtaining a set of shapes and spaces where cohabit both the strangeness as the recognizable.
